It started that night and I didn’t really know, I was just uncomfortable. I had a shower in the morning and bled a little and knew from there that it was go time, I couldn’t feel my belly softening after contractions so my midwife wanted me to go in for a quick check at 8.30, we went in to hospital and I was monitored for about an hour, after that I wanted to go home and be in my own space as my contractions were stronger when I could walk about at my own leisure, they were stronger and closer together if I moved around the house so I just keep walking in between as I wanted it to happen sooner rather than later, we went back into hospital at 1.30 and I stood in the shower with water running over my back the whole time leaning over the stool! It’s crazy that you can actually feel the 3 stages of labour! I kept my Calmbirth breathing through my contractions and keeping my moans low, when it was time to push my body just knew and did it’s own thing! Without any examinations at alI as I didn’t want to move out of the shower my midwife just checked baby’s heart rate while I was in there, towards the end I was getting fatigued but still remembering to breathe through the contractions, I asked for the gas but had two puffs and i preferred nothing, by the time I started pushing to the final push was about 20 minutes! Had her on my knees in the shower! Craziest feeling of my life! I am so glad we had the knowledge that Calmbirth taught us!
